Time Tracking at a Terminal

With NateoTime, time can be tracked from anywhere – via app or browser.

But sometimes that’s not what a company wants. Some businesses prefer that employees record their time when entering or leaving the building.

That’s where time-tracking terminals come in: dedicated PCs or tablets, usually placed in entry areas, where employees can clock in and out.

How to set up a terminal:

  1. Create a new terminal group (Main Menu → Time Terminals → New)
  2. Give it a name (e.g., “Production”, “Warehouse”, or “Office”)
  3. Select the terminal type
  4. Add all employees who should be allowed to clock in at this terminal
  5. If someone should only be able to clock in at a terminal: In the user settings, check “Time Tracking: Terminal Only”
  6. On the terminal device, open NateoTime in the browser or app – but don’t log in with your own account. Instead, log in with the terminal group name and password.

What can these users still do in the app?

Even if someone is set to “Terminal Only” for time tracking, they keep their personal NateoTime login. They can still:

  • View their time overviews
  • Submit missed time entries or corrections
  • Submit vacation or TOIL (time off in lieu) requests
  • Download monthly reports

If an employee should temporarily be allowed to track time outside the terminal (e.g., while traveling), that’s easy to change: just uncheck the “Terminal Only” box in the user settings.
